"Fast" is the creation of Crispin Porter + Bogusky, a Miami advertising agency. It is a U.S.-only advertising/marketing campaign. The campaign won a Promo Lion for promotion marketing at Cannes in June 2006.

Every buyer of a new 2006 MkV GTI receives a Fast. VW of America ships Fast out in big batches, so a buyer does not necessarily receive a Fast right away. Fast is shipped from Livonia, MI via UPS Ground.

Fast comes in a foam-lined box, with three alternate snap-on "tails":

a squiggly "devil" tail, a thunder bolt tail, and a "golf ball" tail. The golf ball tail is a tribute to the original GTI, whose shift knob resembles a golf ball.

Fast does not come with a DVD. (You should have gotten a DVD on the MkV GTI & Fast when you test drove or when you bought the car.)

There are persistent reports of Fast having scratches on his face, near his mouth:

These scratches are probably "flashes" from the molding process (excess material where two parts of the mold meet).

To enquire about the status of your Fast, call VW of America Customer Care, 1 800 822 8987. Verify that they have your correct shipping address. If they have your correct shipping address, just wait, you will receive it sooner or later.
